Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the KinotiX Android mobile application (Package Name: com.kinotix.app), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, please do not install or use KinotiX.
2. About KinotiX
KinotiX is an open-source Android visual wallpaper engine developed by Tcode-Motion. The application features 3D Gyroscope Parallax motion, interactive C++/OpenGL ES fluid dynamics simulations, high-bitrate video loops, Transparent Camera live backgrounds, and curated high-definition static wallpapers.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have parental or legal guardian consent, to use KinotiX in accordance with applicable laws.
4. License to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download and execute KinotiX on compatible Android devices strictly for personal, non-commercial wallpaper personalization purposes.
5. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Activities
When using KinotiX, you agree not to engage in any prohibited activity, including but not limited to:
- Using KinotiX for any illegal purpose or in violation of local, national, or international laws.
- Distributing malware, spyware, corrupted files, or harmful software scripts through the application.
- Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or systematic extraction of artwork assets outside standard personal usage.
- Attempting to bypass security mechanisms, rewarded ad verification, or Ultra HD quality restrictions through unauthorized software modifications.
- Using wallpapers downloaded from KinotiX for commercial resale or trademark registration without explicit owner permission.
6. Wallpapers & Content Ownership
Wallpapers accessible within KinotiX remain the intellectual property of their respective creators, artists, or public license providers (e.g. Unsplash, Creative Commons Zero). Wallpapers downloaded or applied via KinotiX are intended for personal wallpaper presentation on your personal devices.
7. On-Device Intelligent Features
KinotiX utilizes local 6-signal interest matrix evaluation to rank wallpapers on your device. Intelligent recommendation calculations process data locally on your device without uploading personal user files.
8. Camera Wallpaper Feature
KinotiX includes a Transparent Camera live wallpaper feature utilizing Android Camera2 hardware APIs. Camera preview data is processed locally on your device in real-time to render the transparent wallpaper background and is not uploaded to remote servers.
9. Downloads & Local Storage
Wallpapers saved via KinotiX are stored in your device's media gallery via standard Android MediaStore APIs. Local preferences, favorites, and cached thumbnails are managed locally on your device storage.
10. Advertising & Monetization
KinotiX uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including Banner, Native, Interstitial, and Rewarded Ads (used to unlock Ultra HD master resolution downloads). Interactions with advertisements are subject to Google AdMob privacy and terms policies.
11. Third-Party Services & SDKs
KinotiX integrates third-party SDK services including Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications and Google Play Services. Third-party services operate under their respective terms and privacy policies.
12. Application Updates & Availability
KinotiX may automatically or manually receive software updates, bug fixes, performance optimizations, and feature modifications. We reserve the right to update or modify features without prior notice.
13. Intellectual Property Rights
The KinotiX name, logo, original application codebase, UI designs, and official documentation are protected by intellectual property laws. Open-source code components are governed by their respective open-source licenses.
14. Open Source Components
KinotiX incorporates open-source software components under Apache 2.0 and MIT licenses, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Room DB, Coil, OkHttp, and Retrofit. Full attribution is provided in our Open Source Licenses documentation.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
KINOTIX IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL OPERATE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
16. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL KINOTIX DEVELOPERS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION.
17. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict access to application features or terminate availability if user actions violate these Terms of Use or applicable laws.
18. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the developer's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles.
19. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published on this page with an updated Effective Date.
